"Beloved Me Once more" is a hitting song by English singer John Newman. The song was released as a digital download in Europe on 17 May 2013, except for the United kingdom of great britain and northern ireland where it was released on 30 June 2013 every bit the lead single from his debut studio album, Tribute (2013). The vocal was written by Newman and Steve Booker and produced by Booker and Mike Spencer. The song was later featured on the soundtrack for video game FIFA 14.

It was nominated for the Brit Award for British Single of the Yr at the 2014 BRIT Awards[1] and nominated for the 2014 Ivor Novello Honour for Best Song Musically and Lyrically.

Background [edit]

In an interview with Digital Spy, Newman was asked if he sensed that the vocal had something special near it in the studio. He said, "Yeah. The guy I wrote it with (Steve Booker), we turned effectually and had massive grins on our faces thinking, 'At that place'southward something good here'. But you simply never know how practiced it is, you know?".

Newman was also asked if information technology was hard to write the lyrics near love and break-up, he said, "No, it's the only place where I really open up to somebody, through my music. I'm producing [the album] and writing it, it's good. I like to keep a hold of everything".[ii]

With the chord progression of Gm—Bb—Dm—C, the vocal is written in the cardinal of G Dorian. The cardinal signature is in D minor. Both are modes of F major, of which either one tin can be used as the tonic note/chord, because, still, the F major chord is non present in the song.[3]

Music video [edit]

Two music videos, both with elements of Northern soul dancing, take been released for "Love Me Again". One version[iv] directed past Vaughan Arnell is based on the classic love story of Romeo and Juliet.[5] The woman in the video, Juliet, is French actress Margaux Billard, advisedly watched over past her brother, Tybalt, played by Joseph Steyne. The Romeo, is British model Tommy-Lee Winkworth. This video ends in a bewilderment as they get run over by a truck and their fate remains unknown till Newman's follow-up unmarried "Adulterous", which starts with a newspaper article indicating that they had indeed survived the crash, which was a striking-and-run accident.

In popular culture [edit]

"Dear Me Again" was featured on the soundtrack of video game FIFA fourteen,[eight] giving it a cult status amidst FIFA fans, as well as the Federation'south #WorldCupAtHome series, which opened FIFA's annal during the COVID-19 pandemic. Information technology also appeared in the endmost credits of the 2014 scientific discipline fiction motion-picture show, Edge of Tomorrow, starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt. The song was also featured on the American Goggle box series, Suits in the episode, "Cached Secrets", which aired on half dozen March 2014, and in the opening scenes of the showtime episode of season iv, "Ane-Two-3 Go", which aired xi June 2014. "Honey Me Once again" is as well a playable song in Just Dance 2015. The song was too used equally the theme to the television show Whiskey Condescending which debuted in Feb 2019 and ended in May later on one flavor.[9] In Baronial 2020 and May 2021 information technology was used in Television and radio adverts for National Rail.

The French aqueduct TF6 also used this song to shutdown its channel.
